There are so many opportunities for walking in Herefordshire & the surrounding counties all the year round.  Here are just a few.

There are 15 self-guided circular walks available for download from Herefordshire Council

At Queenswood Country Park, there is a network of trails, easy access routes and Electricity Mobility Vehicles to hire.  

Herefordshire Archaeology, the Council's Archaeology Service has an on-going programme of events and walks which explore the landscape & history of the county.  Details here

Herefordshire Ornithological Society  has a list of field walks to watch for birds.  Details here

Crickhowell Walking Festival
24th February to  4th March 2018 and 2nd to 10th March 2019

Established in 2007, the Crickhowell Walking Festival kicks off the year with over 90 walks and a full programme of evening events in the wonderful Black Mountains, part of the Brecon Beacons National Park. www.crickhowellfestival.com

Chepstow Walking Festival
4th - 8th April 2018
This well established walking festival over 5 days has 30 plus walks led by experienced walk leaders exploring the beauty and heritage of the Lower Wye Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  A huge variety of walks some of which visit establishments that are rarely if ever open to the public.  The full programme is available at www.walksinchepstow.co.uk

Kington Walks Spring Weekend: 20th – 22nd April 2018
Kington Walking Festival: 20th – 23rd September 2018
As well as our annual Walking Festival that returns for its seventh year, we are introducing a Spring Weekend of walks for 2018 and a chance to see our glorious countryside at a different time of the year.  On the Welsh Borders, nestled below Hergest Ridge, Kington has more long distance paths converging on the town than almost anywhere else in the UK.  The programme for both events will feature walks from the gentle to the strenuous, some themed (e.g. geology or archaeology) plus a range of events. Talgarth Walking Festival - 4th to 7th May 2018
Talgarth Walkers are Welcome Group is delighted to welcome you to their 6th Walking Festival.  Our programme has a variety of walks and events for all ages, from full day walks to town walks lasting a little over an hour.  Programme and bookings available online

Coleford Walking Festival

Following it's successful launch last year the Coleford Area Walking Festival returns this May offering walks in and around Coleford in the beautiful Forest of Dean.  Walks to suit families, dog walkers, heritage lovers, wildlife fans, the serious or occasional rambler. Malvern Walking Festival

26th May to 3rd June 2018

Mortimer Country Walking Festival
Offers a great programme of walks running all through the summer.  Mortimer Country is just west of Ludlow in north Herefordshire.  There are walks for all types of walkers, from local pub walks to long distance walks on The Mortimer Trail.

Leominster Walking Festival

Thursday, 7th to Sunday 10th June, 2018

Leominster Rambling Club lead a 10 mile walk to Hope-under-Dinmore & Ivington on Thursday 7th June & a town history walk with First World War Memories on Saturday 9th June as Leominster Festival's walking element once again.
Walking for Health in Leominster has walks on Tuesday 5th at 11am and Wednesday 6th at 6.30pm for those who can only do short walks. Meet at the TIC in Corn Square.

10th Annual Ross-on-Wye Walking Festival
Friday 28th to Sunday 30th September 2018.
