Herefordshire Walking is a small social enterprise whose
committee and members are enthusiastic walkers and local businesses working
through the 2016 Walking Festival towards bringing the joy of walking in
Herefordshire to as many as possible.
The first Herefordshire Walking Festival was organised in
2002 to signal that the county was open for walking again after the foot and
mouth epidemic in 2001 brought tourism in such a rural county to a halt. Since then, walking has become a pivotal
factor for attracting visitors to the county and Herefordshire has responded
with the Walkers Are Welcome Towns of Ross-on-Wye, Kington, Leominster and
Bromyard and their Walking Festivals and events.
There’s plenty of it to do;
circle the county from market town to market town on the Herefordshire
Trail or follow the established routes of The Wye Valley Walk, Mortimer Trail,
Monnow Valley Walk and the Offa’s Dyke Path.
